IDELIX Releases LookMOBILE Image Viewer
The new image viewer includes recent user interface innovation for mobile devices

January 31, 2007 - Vancouver, BC - IDELIX Software Inc. announced today the release of LookMOBILE beta 1, a new image-viewing application with an innovative Pliable Display Technology (PDT)-enabled user interface designed for the Pocket PC and Windows Mobile operating systems.

Pliable Display Technology (PDT) is a user interface designed for interaction with detail-rich visual information. PDT uniquely addresses screen space limitations by making small screens act like big screens. With all forecasts predicting continued growth in the mobile sector, the IDELIX team is continuing to research new user interface design and technologies for small screen devices. LookMOBILE features a new UI design for PDT on small touch screens and allows users to view and annotate JPEG, Window Bitmap, and TIFF image file formats.

"Recognizing that it is difficult to interact with rich, detailed information on small screen devices, our team has been researching new user interfaces to meet this challenge," commented IDELIX CTO Dr. David Baar. "Our UI in LookMOBILE improves the user's experience by bringing attention to the most relevant and local information. It does so interactively while preserving the comprehension of location and context that only the big picture can provide."

IDELIX recently released EagleView, a JPIP image-viewing client designed for the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system and optimized for Palm's Treo 700W series smartphones. EagleView is designed to provide remote access over a limited bandwidth to high-resolution images and geospatial data and display it on a small, easily portable device.

IDELIX research and development efforts in the design and integration of advanced user interface technologies has resulted in 11 patents issued or allowed, and 23 patents pending.

LookMOBILE beta 1 is available as a free download from IDELIX Labs at http://labs.idelix.com. IDELIX Labs is a showcase for new IDELIX technologies. For more information about PDT-enabled mobile application development, contact sales@idelix.com.
