OAK HILL, Va., June 17, 2004 – The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) today welcomed six new members, further enhancing the foundation’s ability to advance a national geospatial intelligence agenda.
The six new members are Alcatel, IBM, IDELIX, ObjectFX Corporation, McClendon Corporation and Silicon Graphics, Inc. (NYSE: SGI).
"We are pleased to have these new members on board," said K. Stuart Shea, chairman of the board of directors, USGIF. "The addition of these companies not only strengthens our foundation, but also its ability to help advance our Nation’s national and homeland security."
These new members join the growing list of USGIF members, which already includes Analytical Graphics, Inc. (AGI), BAE Systems, Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp., Boeing, Booz Allen Hamilton, DigitalGlobe, Inc., EarthData International, ESRI, General Dynamics, Harris Corporation, Intergraph, Lockheed Martin Corporation, ManTech International Corporation, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Oracle Corp., Questerra, LLC, Raytheon, and Science Applications International Corporation, and more.
The USGIF will host a national GEOINT 2004 symposium October 12-14 in New Orleans, at which key members of the Geospatial intelligence community are expected to attend and exhibit. The symposium builds upon the highly-acclaimed GEO-INTEL 2003 symposium and will assess how geospatial technologies can further the national security agenda. The U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation is a Virginia-based nonstock, not-for-profit corporation that is applying for a Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
