IDELIX Announces Membership in Consortium led by Eastman Kodak CompanyConsortium Enters Phase 2 of NIMA’s BAA for Softcopy Search
GEOSPATIAL WORLD, NEW ORLEANS May 19, 2003 – IDELIX® Software Inc., creators of the visualization technology known as Pliable Display Technology (PDT), today announced their participation in a consortium headed by Eastman Kodak Company that has advanced to phase two of a contract with the U.S. National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) to deliver a solution that addresses the requirements laid out by NIMA in their Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) NMA 201-02-BAA-7000 for Softcopy Search.
With the integration of Pliable Display Technology, the consortium will deliver a prototype that will provide a more efficient and effective way for NIMA and other U.S. Government agencies to conduct imagery analysis and visualization searches of large geographic areas.
"Pliable Display Technology will give the consortium a strategic competitive advantage," says Bijan Sanii, President and CEO of IDELIX. "We bring to the table an extremely knowledgeable team of experts in the fields of user interface design and information visualization. PDT is a progressive technology that brings significant productivity gains to imagery analysts through efficient real-time detail-in-context viewing and editing capabilities and an intuitive in-place user interface."
IDELIX will play a key role in helping the consortium meet NIMA's requirements," said Kodak's James Manchisi, President, Commercial and Government Systems, Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company. "They have made it easy to implement Pliable Display Technology into the prototype we are developing, and we look forward to continued work with IDELIX on this and other infoimaging projects."
Other members of the consortium include Paragon Imaging, Intergraph, HP Federal and Toshiba. PDT functionality will be integrated into an innovative product called GeoMedia Image Pro which is an ongoing joint venture using Intergraph's premier GIS platform, GeoMedia Professional, and Paragon Imaging's full functioned electronic light table product, ELT/5500. GeoMedia Image Pro is one of the COTS (commercial, off the shelf) products that will be incorporated into the demonstration prototype.
IDELIX CTO and founder, Dr. David Baar will present on PDT’s integration within Intergraph's GeoMedia in the Military and Government track of this year's Geospatial World on May 20 at 4:30 PM. Dr. Baar will also present on the advanced applications of PDT at NIMA's 2004 Pathfinder Functional Crosswalk on May 22 at the National Imagery & Mapping College, Fort Belvoir campus.
About IDELIX
IDELIX Software Inc. is changing the status quo of digital data and image presentation through innovations in visualization. A leader in 2D and 3D graphics technology, IDELIX has developed a patents-pending geometry engine called Pliable Display Technology (PDT). PDT is a virtual lens technology that can be integrated into leading software applications to create a more efficient workflow process. PDT's real time "detail-in-context" functionality makes tasks such as image management, viewing, editing or presentation easier for users working within the spatial limitations of a display screen. Major opportunities for PDT exist in markets where visualization software plays a large role such as digital image processing and analysis, CAD/CAM, geographic information systems, handheld/wireless, and design.About Eastman Kodak Company and infoimaging
