Benefits to Canadians

• New innovations in user interface design will help maintain on-going Canadian success in the GIS and Remote Sensing market. IDELIX plans to work with other Canadian companies to bring these new innovations to the GIS and Remote Sensing community. These future projects will also provide employment opportunities for Canadian sub-contractors to perform the PDT integration tasks with IDELIX’s OEM partners.

• The approach used by the PDT Web Map Client demonstrates the potential to be particularly useful for delivery of applications targeted for rural and remote communities in Canada. It enables effective delivery of geographic information over the Internet and improves equality of access for small remote users.

• As advanced data exploration tools, such as the PDT Web Map Client, become publicly available through the GeoConnections web site, many Canadians, geomatics professionals as well as the general public will be able to effectively exploit the geospatial information gathered and made available by the GeoConnections community. Furthermore, geomatics professionals will be able to realize, firsthand, the detail-in-context capabilities that PDT can provide them in their own specific applications.
