Purpose of Job
The Major Accounts Advertising Executive position focuses on advertiser acquisition and
account management. You will provide direct contact with major Advertising Agencies primarily
in the US. You will aggressively pursue new business, and improve business operating models.
You will also assist in identifying new strategic relationships and business goals.
Competitive base salary plus commission structure, stock options.
Responsibilities / Activities
- Acquire new clients and generate business through prospecting and qualifying leads
- Proactively manage client relationships
- Assist in preparing proposals and presentations to advertising agencies, brokers and large advertisers
- Up to 50% travel
Education
- Bachelor's degree in related field or relevant combination of education and experience
Experience
- 5-10 years hands-on experience in software and/or advertising sales, business development and managing business relationships
- 1-3 years experience online advertising sales
- Experience building a publisher distribution network
- Technical understanding of online advertising processes
- Experience in building sales in start-up or early stage companies a definite asset
- 5-10 years experience dealing with and presenting to c-level executives
Skills / Abilities
- Solid understanding of online advertising solutions
- Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
- Solid proven record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas on a regular basis
- Must be a fearless cold caller
- Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills and proficiency with sales tools such as remote demonstrations
- Excellent communication, networking and negotiation skills
- Ability to identify opportunities, revenue expectations, strategic importance, risk issues, barriers to entry, and critical alliances
- Self-motivated team player with an ability to work independently and a competitive desire to win
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team of technical, sales and marketing personnel
- Proven ability to aggregate and disseminate customer feedback/suggestions/comments to team
